Amina says sorry over Uhuru’s cancelled US trip

Nairobi - Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed apologized to Kenyans living in the United States over President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cancelled trip.
The CS issued the apology at a diaspora gathering in Los Angeles, where President Kenyatta was expected to deliver an address.
In her message, Amina said the president had asked her to pass his best regards and to all Kenyans living, working and studying in the US, The Standard reported.
She however told the gathering that President Kenyatta would travel to the US before the year ends.
President Kenyatta was scheduled to attend the annual Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles, California, but cancelled his trip following an earlier flight mishap.

He returned home after his aircraft faced route challenges caused by heightened military activity in Yemen.
In a statement, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said President Kenyatta’s aircraft was destined for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where he was due to connect to a commercial flight to Los Angeles.
