Ambassador says Uhuru's US visit not official

Nairobi - Kenya's United Nations (UN) ambassador, Macharia Kamau, has clarified that President Uhuru Kenyatta would not be in the US for an official visit when he delivers a speech at the UN in September.
Kamau said the president’s visit will be to the UN and not an official US visit since the two cannot be mixed, Daily Nation reports. It is therefore unlikely that President Kenyatta would travel from New York to Washington to meet with officials from Obama administration, since the visit would not be official.
According to a UN spokesman, President Kenyatta is expected to deliver a speech during the opening session of the General Assembly on September 25.
