Al Shabaab suspect denied bail

18 October 2013, 12:34

Mombasa - The terror suspect who was arrested in Likoni October 10 has been denied bail by a Mombasa court.

During his arrest, police said Swaleh Abdalla had hand grenades with intent to commit felony. It is suspected that he could have been involved in the recent Westgate terror attack that left over 67 civilians dead and over 100 injured. He is also suspected to be behind the killing of four Kenyan jihadists in Somalia, The Standard reports.

Court denied his application to be released on bail for fear that he might flee to the Al Shabaab stronghold in Somalia. He will serve 30 years in jail if convicted.
