Activists protest against new VAT Bill

Nairobi - The Standard reports civil society groups on Wednesday marched to Parliament Buildings to protest against the new VAT Bill, which seeks to add 16 per cent Value Added Tax on commodities.
According to their leader Morris Odhiambo, if the Bill is retabled in Parliament, majority of Kenyans who live on less than a dollar a day will be burdened.
They also want maize meal sold at KES 30.
