Nairobi - The appointment of Mohammed Abduba Dida as the chairman of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Board has been revoked.
Dida, who vied for presidency in the March 4 polls, had been appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a special gazette notice, dated December 31, 2013, as the chairman of the CDF board, a position he would have held for eight months, The Standard reports.
The appointment drew mixed reactions from members of public and several leaders.
Rarieda Member of Parliament, Nicolas Gumbo, and his Suba, counterpart, John Mbadi opposed the appointment saying it contravened the basic laws that established CDF.
His appointment was revoked in a notice signed by Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru.
