AU allowed to file submissions on Ruto's trial

Nairobi - The five members of the African Union who had requested for Ruto's exemption from continuous physical presence at The Hague are expected to file their submissions by 4.00PM on Wednesday.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) expect Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Eritrea to defend their proposal that the Deputy President William Ruto be allowed to attend partial sessions during his trial, Capital News reports.
A decision made by Trial Chamber V (a) in June exempting Ruto from continuous physical presence during his trial was challenged by ICC Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, leading to its reversal.
