The man, Caesar Kagima had received a court order to block the burial of Beatrice Njeri over a land dispute.

Irate family members accused Kagima of illegally transferring ownership of the land to his lover’s 10-year-old son, who was then six months old.

The family members were so angered that they threatened to bury him alive.

“We either bury my mother or him as the grave will not be left empty,” said Janet Wanja, one of Njeri’s daughters.

Police thankfully got there in time and rescued Kagima.

The family then insisted that the woman still be buried on the disputed land.

“She will be buried here at whatever cost,” said Wanja.

According to the family Kagima did not notify them about the court order until Tuesday.

“We were only made aware of the order after all the burial arrangements had been finalised,” said Joseph Wambugu, a nephew of the deceased.

After all the commotion Kagim withdrew the court order and the woman was laid to rest.
