23 June 2016, 16:32 PSCU

Nairobi - Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn was Thursday morning formally received by President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.

The visiting Prime Minister – who arrived in the country on Wednesday at the start of his three day State visit – was accorded full military honours that included a 21 gun salute, with the Kenya Defence Forces band playing the national anthems of Kenya and Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Prime Minister arrived at State House shortly before 11am accompanied by his wife Roman Tesfaye.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretaries, Chief of Defence Forces Gen Samson Mwathethe and other senior government officials were present to receive the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

The Ethiopian First Lady Roman Tesfaye is expected to accompany her Kenyan counterpart Margaret Kenyatta to Kirinyaga County where she will be handing-over the 43rd fully kitted mobile clinic.
