Nairobi - The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Fred Matiang’i has released the 2015 KCSE results.
In his speech at Mitihani House in Nairobi, Matiang’i revealed that cases of irregularities rose 70 per cent in 2015, leading to cancellation of results for 5 000 candidates.
Daily Nation reports that Nairobi, Makueni and Meru counties led in the list, with the CS saying that affected students will take individual responsibility instead of punishing an entire institution.
There were fears that majority of the candidates might miss places in public universities as reports indicated that there are only 67 157 spaces available.
A total of 525 802 candidates sat their Secondary school examinations last year, and they can receive their results by sending an SMS with index number to 22252.
