2 dead, several trapped as Roysambu building collapses

02 April 2015, 13:07

Nairbi - At least two people have been killed and several others trapped under a building that collapsed in Nairobi’s Roysambu area on Thursday.

The building which is located behind the Thika Road Mall collapsed at 10.30am according to the Kenya Red Cross.

Most of those trapped are said to be construction workers who were working at the construction site, Nairobi News reported.

According to residents, the construction of the building was done in haste and that could be the reason why it collapsed.

The National Youth Service and the Kenya Red Cross are leading the rescue operation, as police search for the owner of the building.
