104 foreigners lose Kenyan citizenship

Nairobi - The government has cancelled the citizenship of 104 foreigners on suspicion that the documents were not legally issued.
According to Interior Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo, the names of those affected will be announced on Friday.
He said the move was part of an audit being carried out in the ministry to get rid of the mess that had been caused by corrupt officials, The Standard reports.
After the Westgate mall terror attack by the Al shabaab militants, 15 immigration officers were sacked on claims that they issued illegal ID cards to foreigners.
Cabinet Secretary of Interior Ole Lenku said that their actions had endangered national security hence the sack.
