10 people injured as blaze engulfs liquor factory

Nairobi - A electrical fault is believed to be the cause of a fire that occurred at a beverage and liquor factory around midday on Tuesday , the Nation reports.

There were no fatalities, however 10 people were injured by the fire that was preceded by a explosion, the injured persons are being treated at Kenyatta National Hospital and other medical facilities in close proximity to the scene.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours, before finally getting it under control. Only part of the building was damaged by the fire, as workers scooped up bottles of spirits that were in danger of being ignited.

A company representative, has said the estimated damage of the blaze could easily run into millions of shillings.
