Youths want Museveni to step down
17 November 2015, 08:16
Kampala - A group of youths on Monday were intercepted by police as they attempted to storm the electoral commission demanding that the commission's chairman force President Yoweri Museveni to withdraw from the Presidential race.
Their leader, Isaac Bukenya told journalists that they were from Go Foward party that belongs to former Vice President who is also in the race, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi.
Bukenya said, ''We want the chairman of the electoral commission to make Museveni to step down because he is using government resources to campaign for the 2016 elections yet his fellow competitors were not given any facilitation by government.''
He said that Museveni has a lot of resources at his disposal yet the other candidates have nothing to use.
But police said that the youths did not get permission to demonstrate or storm the electoral commission.
