Youth warned against violence during the Malindi by election

Mombasa - Politicians at the coast have been cautioned against inciting the electorate and making utterances that may flare up tension during the highly anticipated March 7 by election in Malindi.
Coast regional coordinator, Nelson Marwa has warned politicians campaigning for candidates in the coming by election against hate speech and incitement.
Speaking at Matsangoni area in Kilifi North during a ceremony to install Selina Maitha as Deputy County commissioner, Marwa said they will not allow politicians to use youth to cause chaos in the by election.

“We have reports that some youths are already on standby waiting to interfere with the Malindi by-election ... Youths should distance themselves from unscrupulous politicians who want to use them to perpetrate violence,” Marwa said.
“Our security team is on high alert and ready to deal with anyone who interferes with the by-election,” he further cautioned.
