You wil not put Elgeyo Marakwet under 'sieke' - Murkomen teases Kimaiyo

26 September 2016, 12:25

Nairobi - Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has hit out at former Inspector General of police, David Mwole Kimaiyo.

Murkomen through a Facebook post mocked the former IG, who has declared interest in unseating him in 2017.

The Senator said Kimaiyo is eyeing his seat because he believes he was behind his sacking from office as IG.

“Kimaiyo says he wants to run for Senate because I sacked him from office as IG,” Murkomen posted.

He asked Kimaiyo  to be bold and ‘fair enough’ and tell the nation why he was also sacked as the Chairman of the Kenya Aiports Authority months later.

He also observed that security had improved under the leadership of IG Joseph Boinett, a sharp contrast from the state of insecurity witnessed during Kimaiyo’s tenure.

“Why can’t he tell the nation why after his departure the security of the nation has improved under Boinett?” posed Murkomen.

In an apparent direct attack, the Senate Deputy Majority Leader said under his watch, Elgeyo Marakwet won’t be under ‘sieke’, a corrupted version of siege associated with the former IG.

“Verily verily I say unto you, Elgeyo Marakwet County will not be under Sieke. At least not under my watch!” Murkomen added.
