Nairobi - Politics in Vihiga county western Kenya has taken a new twist after Emuhaya MP Wilberforce Otichillo declared that he will quit ODM, the Orange Democratic Movement immediately the IEBC disbands parliament in anticipation of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking during a fundraising at Kigunga primary school in Sabatia constituency, Otichillo made the declaration saying that when parliament would be disbanded by the IEBC he would quit ODM and join the party that people of Vihiga would tell him to join for his Gubernatorial quest in the county.
Otichillo however denied the claims that he is vying for the ODM secretary general position that was left by Ababu Namwamba saying that he is not interested in party politics but improving the lives of people in his county.
"How do I vie for such position that our son has left after being frastuated by the party? Won't I be backstabbing this community and also my brother Ababu?" He asked.
Otichillo also supported the move by COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli to bring all leaders from western region together and choose one flag bearer for the 2017 polls, saying that it would make the community a strong force in the upcoming general elections.
