Nairobi - Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Keriako Tobiko has ordered a probe on Jubilee politician Suleiman Shahbal for making inciting comments over the weekend.
Shahbal, in a video recording taken in Kilifi over the weekend is seen saying that Jubilee would win the 2017 General Election next election by buying or stealing votes and forceful means.
Deputy President William Ruto was also in attendance.
" My attention has been drawn to a video clip posted on the website of the Star, Kenya, in which the above mentioned person is captured uttering words that may amount to criminal offenses under our elections and criminal laws,” Tobiko said Wednesday.
" This is therefore to direct you to cause the said person to be immediately interrogated and speedy investigations conducted into the offensive utterances and the resultant inquiry file forwarded to this office without delay for perusal and appropriate action,” the DPP added.
Shahbal has recently joined the Jubilee Party after defecting from CORD's Wiper movement.
