Woman steals, sells two week old granddaughter

Nairobi - Police in Subukia are investigating a middle-aged woman over allegations that she stole her daughter’s two week old new born baby.
According to police, Ruth Wambui, is suspected to her made away with the baby from Subukia Township on Sunday before she was later arrested after the baby was reported missing.
Police records indicate that the suspect went ahead to beat up her daughter after she questioned her about the disappearance of the granddaughter.
Subukia OCPD Alex Ng’ang’a confirmed the incident saying that the baby was recovered in kijabe where she had been allegedly sold.
He added that they suspect the child had been sold for ritual purposes and police are investigating the matter
The woman is to appear in court today.
