Isiolo - Police in Isiolo town have rescued five children from the house of a 55-year-old woman in Kulamawe Estate.
Led by Waso location Chief, Charles Chuchu, the officers also rescued the suspect from being lynched by irate members of public who thronged her premises upon learning that she was hiding the children for unknown reasons.
Chuchu said he called police after the woman refused to open the house where two boys and three girls, including the woman’s granddaughter, were being held.
All the five captives attend same primary school.

He said parents of the four children reported the matter to the assistant chief after they went missing the whole day and night.
“How could the woman detain the children overnight and she was aware that they were supposed to be in school?” posed one of the parents.
He said the curious mob reported the matter to the chief after she refused to open the door for fear of lynching.
The captor and captives were later taken to Isiolo police station for further interrogation.
