Woman charged for killing her newborn baby

Nairobi - A 28-year-old woman was arraigned before a Nakuru court Wednesday morning for allegedly killing her baby barely six hours after delivery.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate David Kimei, Emmaculate Achieng' denied the charges saying the child died a natural death and not out of her negligence or deliberate actions.
It is alleged that she committed the offence on the June 22 in Rhonda estate in Nakuru town.

She was arrested after police intervened and saved her from an angry mob that wanted to lynch her claiming that it was not the first time she was committing the offence.
The court ordered that the accused undergo psychiatric test and post-natal medication before the hearing of the case.
The case is scheduled for hearing on July 7.
