Woman arrested for killing husband’s concubine

Kirinyaga - A middle-aged woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death her husband’s concubine in Karumandi village, Kirinyaga County.
Mary Wawira is said to have killed Elizabeth Wanjiku for being in an illicit affair with her husband Stephen Njogu.
According to Gichugu Administration Police (AP) Commandant Steve Munyi, the suspect first confronted the deceased before a fight ensued.
The suspect later drew a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased on the chest, leaving her bleeding profusely.

Wawira was arrested and escorted to the area AP police post where residents later stormed seeking to attack her for the incident.
She was saved by police who whisked her to a Land Rover and transferred her to Kianyaga police station for safety before court trial.
Wanjiku’s body was taken to Kianyaga Funeral home in Kutus town as police said investigations into the incident have kicked off.
