Why UON students want Babu Owino gone

Nairobi - It is apparent that Babu Owino is a wanted man at the University of Nairobi but why?
There have been serious protests about Owino's election win over the weekend, which have culminated in the student union's offices being burnt and several demonstrations within the Nairobi Central Business District.
But why is the election win by Owino being contested so heavily.
According to Owino's chief competitor Mark Jacobs, he was leading in all campuses by late Friday night and had amassed more than 12,000 votes.
Shock was to wake up and find that Owino had won with 18,000 votes to his paltry 3,000.
" There was open rigging and we will not accept it," he told News24.
" The counting went smoothly Friday night and I was way above the 12,000 mark. It was shocking to find that I only had 3,000 votes in the end," he added.
Owino on the other hand dismissed the statement.
" The voting figures are public. The ballots are still available. They can go check," he stated.
What is clear is that the case will not go away without a solution. Soon.
" The demonstrations will continue until justice prevails. If not, then we will go on and on," Jacobs stated.
Police have warned that they will take serious action on those trying to cause violence in the city and will not hesitate to make arrests.
