Why Uhuru is going after Mudavadi
09 May 2016, 19:37
Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has sought a means to win votes in Western Kenya, by dislodging Musalia Mudavadi.
The President sees Mudavadi as the weak link in the Western Kenya and will attack the County hard to try win some votes ahead of the 2017 General Elections.
Thus the trip to the Western circuit.
President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will tour
Western region in two-weeks time during which they are expected to roll
out several development projects.
They will also be expected to woo the region to support Jubilee.
" The trip is strategic. It is key because the Kakamega region is the most welcoming and the most open to new ideas," a Jubilee Coalition strategist told News24 on condition he not be named.
The move will majorly be a blow to Musalia Mudavadi who is majorly depending on the region to produce the basis for his Presidential campaign.
The Amani National Congress leader is seeking to compete for the Presidency and his election will depend on whether he will get enough votes in his own backyard.
The CORD coalition is also seeking votes in the region with leader Raila Odinga very popular in the region.
