Why Uhuru hired Kosgey

Nairobi - Why did President Uhuru Kenyatta appoint Henry Kosgey to a public role?
Kosgey, as well as other old heads Francis Kimemia and Hussein Ali have been appointed to different roles in parastatals by the President in a gazette notice dated 17 March.
Kimemia replaces Martin Kariuki Muragu at the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation while Kosgey and Ali will Chair of the Tourism Fund and the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Co-ordination Board respectively.
Kosgey's appointment though, as State House sources tell News24 is purely a political business.
With the Rift Valley becoming a hard nut to crack for the Jubilee Coalition at the moment, Kosgey will help solve the puzzle.
With Franklin Bett also appointed last week, the President is trying to get the Rift back on track after the recent tumultuous Kericho by election.
" Kosgey is an experienced head. He will get the Rift Valley back on track, the President hopes," the source stated.
" The former CORD leader is well known within the KANU circles and will shift the momentum that has been gained by the opposition," he added.
Kosgey is a former Tinderet MP and cabinet minister. He was also a key cog in the CORD leader Raila Odinga's team in the 2007 and 2013 elections.
