Nairobi - ODM MP's want the CORD flag bearer known in 2017 and not in late 2016 like some have asked. But why?
Orange party MPs Opiyo
Wandayi of Ugunja, Nicholas Gumbo of Rarieda, Peter Kaluma from Homa Bay and Timothy Bosire of Kitutu Masaba called for time.
According to the MPs, the time to choose a Presidential candidate is there.
" There cannot be a deadline in politics. The
political situation will continue to evolve until when the presidential
candidates will be presenting their papers to the electoral commission
and that will be around May next year,” said Mr Wandayi.
According to the MP, eight months
" Eight months is a very long time in politics,” he added.
Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula are fighting for the CORD ticket
to face Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year’s elections.
According to Gumbo, former President Mwai Kibaki was unveiled only two months to election day.
" We must buy as much time as possible. Kibaki made it after only two months. Why not now?" he added.
