Nairobi - A church elder and businessman committed suicide in Nairobi but why?
John Kinyanjui shot himself in the chest in his Thome Estate home in Muthaiga North Thursday evening. He left a suicide note in his bedroom before using his Ceska Pistol to take his own life.
According to a Police report seen by News24, the businessman said that he was tired of forcing his family to help him live what he called a sorry life.
Kinyanjui had been sick for over two years and was in and out of various hospitals.
His suicide note stated the said facts.
" A suicide note was found in his bedroom explaining the reasons for his death," the report stated.
His family members declined to speak to members of the media.
His wife Mary told Police that her husband called her to tell her to rush back home from a funeral.
She rushed back only to find him dead.
" He had injuries to the chest and as much as we tried to resuscitate him he did not respond," the report added.
Kinyanjui was a senior elder at the Thome PCEA church.
