Why Mudavadi will not join Uhuru

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta still scares ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi after their ordeal before the 2013 General Elections.
The Amani National Congress leader is still scarred over the botched deal in 2012 between the President and himself which would have seen him run for the Presidency on the Jubilee Coalition ticket.
A deal had been signed and sealed between the two which would have seen Uhuru let Mudavadi take the Presidency.
But the deal fell through in the end when the President claimed he had been taken over by evil spirits and instead went on to run for the Presidency.
A coalition between the two would have sufficed in the current state of events with the Jubilee leaders seeking a foothold in the western Kenya region but it is understood Mudavadi is still scared by the incident in 2013.
" The party leader is aware of what happened in 2013. That is a reason he will not join Jubilee or work with them," a source told News24.
" What happened in 2012 was betrayal and he will not risk being taken for a ride," the source added.
Mudavadi and Uhuru met in Nairobi over the weekend, a meeting which evoked memories of their deal back in 2012 but both sides have refused that the deal is anywhere close to agreeing a deal geared towards the 2017 polls.
