Why Kidero and Sonko exchanged punches

Nairobi - The bitter political rivalry between Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko was taken a notch higher on Wednesday after the two politicians exchanged blows.
The duo engaged in a physical fight during a Senate session where the Governor was being grilled by the departmental Public Accounts Committee over audit queries raised by the Aditor General on the last financial year.
Trouble started when the controversial Senator sensationally claimed that the Governor is a murderer.

Sonko, who appeared at the committee sitting as a friend of the team claimed that Kidero and his Chief of staff Wainana killed a woman and took over her KES 2 Million property.
When asked to apologize and withdraw the remarks by the Committee Chairman Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang Nyong’o, the maverick Senator declined and instead banged the table.
The verbal brawl then degenerated a physical fight, forcing the committee to abruptly adjourn.
The duo were kicked out of the committee where they went for each other jugular; had it not been for intervention of senators and parliamentary orderlies, one of the two politicians would have spotted a bloody nose.
