Why Karua has not attended IEBC protests

Nairobi - NARC Kenya Leader Martha Karua has not appeared for the CORD IEBC protests every Monday. But why?
Karua has been very critical of the manner in which Police have treated protesters in the ongoing protests and this week called for the sacking of interior CS Joseph Nkaissery for calling for Police to be more brutal to the protesters.
And with KANU boss Nick Salat already seen at the Anniversary Towers where the IEBC is based, Karua may also make an appearance?
" The cases of Police brutality are unnaceptable. It is a constitutional right for Kenyans to protest,"s he said.
On whether she will appear, she left the answer open.
" Even if you do not see me it does not mean I am not in support of the demos," she said.
According to a CORD source though, Karua has been urged to keep away thanks to the violent nature of the protests, which she knows too well.
" It is dangerous as we have seen. There is no need to have any person who can avoid being there to be there, such as ladies," the source stated.
Karua is a part of the CORD Coalition and its plans for the 2017 General Elections.
