Why Kalonzo changed his mind over Uhuru visit

Machakos - Cord co-Principal Kalonzo Musyoka will skip President Uhuru Kenyatta's three day tour of Ukambani region.
Lawmakers from the region which is Kalonzo’s stronghold Friday announced that the opposition leader will not receive the Head of State as had been much anticipated, as he had been kept in the dark about the trip.
Led by Mwingi Senator David Musila who is also the Wiper Chairman and his Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze during a press conference in Parliament, they said organizers of the President's trip had failed to give details of their itinerary to their party leader.
"Kalonzo cannot run around looking for where the President is in his region. He will not accompany him on the trip. We however welcome him in our area, and ask our people to turn up in large numbers to welcome him," explained Musila.
President Kenyatta Friday morning was welcomed by Kalonzo’s nemesis, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua in Mlolongo, his first stop-over in his three day tour of the region that overwhelmingly voted for the opposition in 2017.
