Kakamega - Mourners at a funeral in Mumias were treated to drama after a woman attacked Kakamega Senator Bonni Khalwale who was making his speech.
The unknown woman shot from the crowd Saturday and yanked away the microphone from the vocal Senator, then hit him with it.
Khalwale had made remarks belittling his Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, which angered a section of the mourners.
The ceremony ground to a halt for a few minutes, as the angry woman gave the Senator a piece of her mind, while mourners cheered and booed him.
MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani) and Ayub Savula (Lugari) were present.
Mr Khalwale who has announced his interest for the area Gubernatorial seat had earlier told off leaders from Western Kenya who work with Jubilee government calling them traitors.
The MPS vowed to continue working with the ruling government for the good of the residents of the region.
