Why I missed Uhuru speech: CORD MP
31 March 2016, 19:48
Nairobi - Some CORD MPs did not attend President Uhuru Kenyatta's State of the Nation speech.
One of those who absconded was Mbita MP Milly Odhiambo who stated that she missed the address due to what she termed as unfulfilled promises from previous addresses.
She accused the president and the larger Jubilee Coalition of handing Kenyans promises they cannot produce.
" This government has lied to Kenyans in the past and failed to deliver on key promises. Why should I listen again?," she posed.
Odhiambo was among MPs who used whistles to disrupt the beginning of the address by the President, eventually being forced out of the house by Speaker Justin Muturi.
