Why I have left ODM for Jubilee, MP says

Nairobi - Ababu Namwamba was right to quit ODM leadership, an MP has said.
Lamu East MP Shariff Athman told News24 on phone that the CORD leader had lost the support of the nation and must retire and let others take over leadership positions.
He stated that Raila's style of leadership was outdated and will not lead to any good for the regions supporting him.
" There is nothing that Raila has done for us despite being in the opposition all these years. This is not about personal issues but rather development agendas and none have come from Raila," he complained.
He added that in moving to the Jubilee Coalition, he and other MPs from the region were not overreacting but rather doing what's best for themselves and their region.
" President Kenyatta’s government has shown us in just three years that
it means well for us. For example, the Garsen to Witu road is being tarmacked for the
first time since independence while other developments are ongoing,” he
Athman says that he and other leaders are hoping that the Coast turns into a Jubilee Party zone ahead of the 2017 polls.
There has been serious rebuttal of the CORD Coalition in recent times in the Coastal region, which has caused major disruptions in the opposition ahead of the 2017 polls.
