Nairobi - CORD leader Martha Karua missed out on the protests at the IEBC headquarters. Why?
Now part of the opposition coalition, Karua has on a number of occasions appeared with the CORD trio of Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula when confronting critical issues.
But she was missing from the CORD protests Monday, leaving social media commentators to delve into the reasons for her absence.
" Karua had commitments Monday and could not make it but she is with us," a source at CORD told News24.
Later on in the ensuing melee, the NARC Kenya boss made her feelings known on social media via her Twitter account.
" Dispersing a peaceful gathering with tear gas is an unnecessary use of excessive force!," she stated.
" I would have expected police to allow cord leaders into IEBC offices whose access is open to the public!," he added.
" The only force used &I dare say unlawfully was by police!," she continued.
Karua is expected to be a part of the CORD coalition come the 2017 polls.
