Why are Bunyala farmers against Raila's Western tour?

Busia - Bunyala rice farmers on Wednesday faulted Cord Leader Raila Odinga’s visit in Budalangi saying that he failed to address their issues when they needed him most.
Magombe irrigation rice farmers told the press on Wednesday morning that they will not entertain Cord leader’s visit in the area should he and Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong attempt to “meddle” in their affairs.
The irate rice farmers who had taken part in a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday complained that the Busia County government has done nothing to promote rice growing in Bunyala sub-county, which is a major rice growing zone in the former Western province.

Addressing journalists at the Magombe National Irrigation Board offices before the former PM landed, they further accused Raila of failing to address their issues when he was the Prime Minister and yet they had voted for him in large numbers.
“Our County government does not want to provide us with sufficient tractors to promote rice farming accordingly. They only come here seeking for votes; their visit this time round will not have any impact,” they said.
This comes as the area MP Ababu Namwamba, who recently relinquished his ODM Secretary General position, stated that Budalangi residents are ready to shame Raila Odinga in 2017.
