What to do in the face of failure

Many people fear to fail and will do anything to avoid it.
I know friends who have given up promising ventures because they feared to fail.
One of the reasons some of the great achievers in history did so well after failure may have been because they had a growth mindset. People who have a growth mindset believe that while everyone may differ in their level of intelligence or ability, fundamentally we can increase this level through hard work.
Top achievers usually have natural ability to work relentlessly and to take risks, but working hard increases their ability to achieve whatever they set out to achieve. If they possessed a fixed mindset, which is to believe that one is born with a certain level of intelligence and ability that cannot be changed, then learning from failure would not have been an option.
Take, for example, if you believe that intelligence cannot be increased, then failure is going to make you feel hopeless and depressed because there is not much you can do to increase it.
When you believe that you can increase your intelligence by hard work, then you will be able to overcome failure by striving to do better and achieve your goal.

Studies show that people who are told that intelligence can be raised through hard work and effort do better that those who have been told that intelligence is inborn.
If you have a fixed mindset, take the time to think about your view of intelligence and the eventual success.
If you feel anxious and depressed after failing, it’s time to invest your energy into hard work for better results. Many people avoid tasks because of fear of failure and put less effort into tasks because they feel hopeless about making progress.
Often, we miss learning opportunities because of fear of failure and the belief that intelligence is fixed.
Intelligence is neither fixed nor inborn. It is a result of continuous effort and hard work. This entails learning from challenges and failure.
Choose to change your mindset today and you will be amazed at how much you can achieve.
When you encounter failure, set your mind to these questions; what can I learn from this failure? How can I improve my performance through this setback? The answers to these two questions will help you attain the right mindset for greater achievement.
