What Jubilee has to part with in order to win the Luhya vote in 2017

Bungoma - An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator has given Jubilee coalition conditions for winning the Luhya vote in 2017.
Sirisia MP, John Waluke said that if the Luhya Community wins the Nairobi Gubernatorial race in the next general elections and are also awarded the Speaker of the National Assembly seat, Jubilee should expect massive support from Western region in the next general election.
Speaking in Bungoma, Waluke said if the agreement can be reached before the election time, Luhyas will fully back the ruling government.
“We have learned Luhya sons and daughters who can fill the Nairobi governorship and National Assembly Speaker posts respectively. Let those positions be preserved for us because we are the second largest community in the country after Kikuyus,” said Waluke.

He said that Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa can become the Nairobi Governor with the blessing of the Jubilee leaders.
“Our son Ababu Namwambu who is currently the Budalang’i Mp and ODM Secretary General can become a good Speaker of the National Assembly because he is a good lawyer,” he said.
Waluke, who is a close Jubilee ally noted that Luhyas have been sidelined in terms of big jobs in the government and asked the Jubilee administration to consider their plea if they need to succeed in the Western region.
“Despite majority of our people supporting the Jubilee administration, we have not benefited very much. Let the ruling coalition preserve for us such slots so that we can also feel honoured and appreciated for the support we will offer by voting for Jubilee,” Waluke said.
