What if Ababu Namwamba changes his mind?

Mombasa - A leader allied to the ODM party in Kwale has said they will oppose any plans to replace SG Ababu Namwamba with someone from western region.
Matuga sub County ODM Chairman, Hamisi Rachuo said that Senator Agnes Zani is fit to take over Ababu Namwamba's position adding that if western must get representation, they are free to deputize Zani.
Addressing journalists in Kwale Wednesday, Rachuo said that coast region which largely supports ODM will not accept anything below SG position.
Agnes Zani already took over as the acting secretary general after Ababu Namwamba's resignation.
“Ababu was not chased by anyone. Those demanding that the SG post be reserved for Western are day dreaming,” he added.

“It is history for a woman to take up such a big position in this country and so we must support women leadership. It is time for women leaders to take up positions in the country,” he noted.
Rachuo said that coastal region is not shocked by Ababu's resignation since his exit means nothing to the party.
“If for example Ababu comes back, he can only be a member or deputize Zani for now,” said Rachuo.
He was reacting to sentiments by nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro who was quoted as saying that Ababu should be replaced by a person from western Kenya.
