Wetang'ula to launch Presidential bid in Mudavadi backyard

29 March 2016, 19:32 William Korir

Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga will attend the Presidential launch of co principal Moses Wetang'ula.

CORD principals met Tuesday in Nairobi and approved the convention of a public rally at Masinde Muliro Gardens in Kakamega Saturday, 2nd April 2017.

At the rally, Senator Wetang'ula will unveil his 2017 presidential campaign.

Leaders Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Wetang'ula agreed at the meeting today that the Kakamega rally will be a CORD affair convened by joint coalition conveners Senators James Orengo (ODM), Johnstone Muthama (Wiper) and Simiyu Eseli (Ford Kenya).

Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya will be the host.

" All CORD elected leaders including MCAs, MPs, Senators and governors are invited to the event," the communique read in part.

The announcement kills of reports that there has been disharmony within the opposition coalition over the impending announcement of Presidential campaigns by Wetang'ula and Kalonzo.

Coalition leader Raila Odinga is still expected by many to be CORD flag bearer come the 2017 polls.
