Nakuru - Water and Irrigation Cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa has told off Raila Odinga noting that “honeymoon” for the Opposition in the western region is over.
Wamalwa pointed out that he represents the interests of both the Luhya community and Jubilee government, and the Luhya community will not tolerate the opposition theatricals.
“The western region has changed and is not the same as yesterday. I represent the Luhya community and the opposition should not waste their time visiting this region,” he said.

This came even as Raila is planning to visit Vihiga, Busia and Kakamega counties leaving behind Bungoma where his co-Principal Moses Wetang’ula hails from.
Politician leaders from the region say the move is a clear indication that Raila does not value Bungoma as a political stronghold.
At the same time, political experts say Wamalwa and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka have created strong political support for Jubilee government in the region.
This is despite Wetang’ula insisting that he is the most popular candidate in Cord to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 General Election.
