Waiguru likely to be Nairobi women rep

Nairobi - The Jubilee Coalition will offer former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru the position of Nairobi County women representative.
Waiguru is thought not to carry enough clout to compete for Governor with Evans Kidero and Mike Mbuvi Sonko who command large followings in the capital.
Whether Waiguru can turn that around as the 2017 General Election nears, remains to be seen but those behind the coalition do not seem convinced.
" It is difficult to see any other candidate apart from Sonko that can compete with Kidero. That is the major problem," a Jubilee source told News24.
The issue is that unlike Sonko, Waiguru as well as nominated MP Johnstone Sakaja make the perfect candidate to front but it would leave Kidero in a strong position as they are political novices.
Also, another issue is that there is the need to avoid Jubilee candidates running on different parties in-order to consolidate votes which might come if there are disgruntled persons after the nomination process.
" The key for Jubilee will be to ensure that there is no break up. If they can nominate one candidate and have them supported by rest it would be perfect," political analyst Michael Njenga says.
CORD has already announced it will beck singular candidates in the regions it will compete in and thus Kidero is likely to amass a huge number of votes which may sway the election in his favour.
Dagoretti MP Dennis Waweru has also already shown his interest in the seat.
