Nairobi - Two Kirinyaga politicians have endorsed former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru for the County governor’s seat in 2017 elections.
Ndia parliamentary seat aspirant John Mithamo and Kirinyaga Women Representative aspirant Wangui Ngirici said they would support Waiguru for the top seat.
They accused the incumbent, Joseph Ndathi, of mismanaging the County by failing to concentrate more on development.
Mithamo, who is also a director at Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), exuded confidence with Waiguru’s leadership saying she can be able to address the plight of tea farmers.
Recently, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political advisor Patrick Ngatia hinted that the former CS would be going for a political seat in next elections.
Ngatia, while at Kiamugumo Primary school for a prize giving ceremony, said a rally will be held in the near future where key announcements on Waiguru would be made.
Gichugu MP Njogu Barua, who termed the former CS a workaholic and incorruptible said if given a chance the former CS can turn around development in the County
Barua defended Waiguru saying that she was entitled to vie for any seat in the country insisting that she can make a very good Governor.
