Nairobi - A leading University of Nairobi lecturer has been killed in cold blood at his home.
Professor Stephen Nzuve was killed at his home in Tala Saturday night by a group of 5 thugs who accosted him at his gate after he arrived back from sending off some guests.
They had asked for an unknown amount of money from the Professor as well as taking away personal effects including three laptops.
They shot him on the chest.
" They killed him in cold blood. They arrived at his home and asked to be given money which he did not have on him. They shot him in-front of his own family," Tala OCPD Joseph Chesire told News24 on phone.
He stated that Police were investigating if the robbery was a screen for a different matter.
" It could have been a different issue which they had with the Professor because they took enough from the family and also a very long time in the house," he added.
The thugs it is understood took three hours to commit the crime.
" We have no leads at the moment but we are investigating the matter," he added.
The Professor was as well known scholar and headed the University's Business Studies section.
