Nairobi - An ODM official has denied joining the Jubilee Party despite supporting a Jubilee supported motion.
Viwandani MCA Samwel Nyangara has said that he is still a part of ODM despite sponsoring an impeachment motion against Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
Nyang'wara tabled his motion on Tuesday.
He has been rebuked by ODM officials in Nairobi but says he is working for the betterment of the lives of the people of Nairobi.
" What is the truth must be said. I am working for my people. If there is wastage of funds and abuse of office I am failing my people by not acting on it," he told News24.
The motion resulted in chaos at the assembly and summons for Speaker Alex Magelo and clerk Jacob Ngwele to appear before the EACC to explain what happened.
However the MCA denied that he had been fronted by the Jubilee Party.
" I was elected on an ODM ticket and I am still a part of the party," he added.
The MCA was removed from three county assembly committees and rebuked by ODM, but he said he will seek court action in returning to at least one of the committees.
