UhuRuto to personally pick Jubilee party candidates
14 July 2016, 13:49
Nakuru - President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto will personally decide on persons who will be sponsored by new Jubilee party to various elective posts in 2017.
According to TNA Nakuru chairman Harrison Muiruri, UhuRuto will have the final say on who will be given the party ticket and who will not.
Muiruri said that the President and his deputy will do so to ensure that the party gets strong candidates for the 2017 general elections.
He said that TNA and URP lost most seats in the 2013 polls because they settled on the wrong candidates and cannot afford to repeat the mistakes.

"Things will be different this time round because the President and his deputy will have the final say on who will vie on the Jubilee party ticket in the 2017 polls and this is to ensure that the party gets the strongest and best candidates," said Muiruri.
"We lost so many seats in 2013 because we settled on two wrong candidates and the party is keen not to repeat the same mistakes. That is the reason the President and his deputy will be in charge of the process of nominating candidates," he said.
The TNA and URP parties are expected to merge Jubilee parties in readiness for the next year's polls.
