Uhuru's Chief of Staff to sue Raila over Eurobond Claims

14 January 2016, 19:31 William Korir

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta's Chief of Staff Joseph Kinyua has promised to sue CORD leader Raila Odinga for naming him in the Eurobond list.

Kinyua was among 8 persons named by the CORD leader Tuesday as being a part of the Eurobond mess and he did not take much time to respond to the allegations.

" This is totally scandalous and as long as the honourable Prime Minister does not apologize soon, I will be forced to take legal action against him," he told News24 on phone.

" The accusations are baseless and unless there is a quick retraction then we will meet in court," he added.

He said that he had already instructed his lawyers Ogachi and Ogeto advocates to take action.

Raila named the officials as Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Kinyua, Treasury Permanent Secretary Kamau Thugge and former Central Bank of Kenya Governor Njuguna Ndung'u, with Central Bank chairman Jairus Nyaoga, Benard Ndung'u, John Birech, Moses Muthui and Patrick Kamau also on the list.

Rotich has already stated that he will take legal action against Raila.

The CORD leader insists that as much as KES 110 billion of the KES 400 billion Eurobond has been stolen.
