Uhuru warns Raila of consequences if he does not provide Eurobond evidence

12 December 2015, 18:35 William Korir

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned CORD leader Raila Odinga of serious consequences if he does not corroborate his accusations of corruption in government.

Speaking during Jamhuri Day celebrations Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Uhuru also agreed that if indeed there is any reason to prosecute government officials over the use of the KES 250 Billion Eurobond, then it would.

" Anyone found to have misused public funds will be prosecuted without fail," he said.

He also pointed a warning finger towards Rails who has vocally accused the government of wasting KES 100 of the 250 billion.

" On the other hand, the government will not take lightly accusations of graft and let them slide if they are not proven to be true. Action will be taken on those who are found to be accusing the government for the sake of it," he added.

Raila has been summoned by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission EACC to explain his utterances as regards the loss of funds.

He has thus far insisted that he will no go forward and that the EACC has the machinery to investigate the cases.
