Uhuru set for KANU talks

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has instigated talks to ensure KANU is back in the Jubilee fold.
The President is keen to ensure that the unity forged by all Jubilee Coalition parties is maintained ahead of the 2017 General Election.
He has thus made it his priority to ensure that the recent spat between the Jubilee Party and the former ruling party goes away to ensure harmony ahead of the polls.
According to State House sources, the move is important as it will prevent vote splitting ahead of the elections.
It will also reinforce the already strong relationship between the President and former head of state Daniel Arap Moi.
" The President is keen to ensure that all Jubilee partners are together come the 2017 polls.
" At present it seems that KANU will not field a Presidential candidate and thus the talks will help unify the Kalenjin people and get it to one vote for him and the party," the source added.
The DP William Ruto has already been urged to form a strong relationship with KANU in-order to consolidate ahead of the 2017 polls and not hand the opposition an opportunity to win an advantage.
Ruto has recently been in a spat with KANU bosses during the campaign period for the recent Kericho by election.
