Uhuru set for critical Moi talks
14 March 2016, 22:23
Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta will meet retired President Daniel Moi to seek an end to the divisive politics in the south Rift.
The President is said to still hold the former President in high esteem and regularly gets advice from the elder statesman.
With divisions threatening to kill the Jubilee Coalition's hold on the Rift, it is understood that the two will meet soon to seek the way forward.
" The President is keen to ensure the Rift Valley is together and with that he will speak to the former President to help out," a State House source told News24.
The President and DP William Ruto will also take a tour of the region to consolidate their hold of the region.
The fact that the opposition won a third of all votes cast in the Kericho election has raised alarm bells within the ruling Coalition.
And with an ongoing spat between the DP and Moi's son Gideon still ongoing, there is room to deal with the situation.
