Uhuru promised me direct nomination, Governor claims

Nairobi - A Governor says that he is certain to be in the ballot for the 2017 elections on a Jubilee Party ticket after President Uhuru Kenyatta guaranteed him the position.
Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya says that he is sure he will be on the ballot come 2017 on a Jubilee ticket.
He says that he moved to the ruling coalition as he was sure he would be able to defend his seat.
" I will be on the ballot on a Jubilee ticket in 2017," he told News24.
When probed on how sure he was to winning the nominations early next year, Mvurya said that he had been guaranteed a position if he moved.
" As one of the senior members of the Jubilee Party in the Coastal region, we will seek votes as we will be on the ballot, 100%," he added.
Mvurya is on record as leaving ODM for Jubilee since he had been denied direct nomination by leader Raila Odinga.
